Watch Boardwalk Empire Season 1 Episode 1 - Pilot Episode. This is the beginning of Prohibition, when the U.S. government decided that the sale of alcohol is illegal, but that does not Enoch "Nucky"; Thompson competes in the rum trade, from his office as treasurer of the city. Nucky is a politician with a gangster bravado, and he is the man to deal with alcohol if you want illegal. Nucky considered Atlantic City, and everybody knew it. His gang includes his brother Elias, the local sheriff and a crowd of thugs and bosses Ward. Nobody does business in Atlantic City, except Nucky - including "Big Jim" Colosimo, "Lucky" Luciano, Arnold Rothstein, and even the famous Al Capone.

The setting is Atlantic City, known as "The World's Playground";. This village was a stones throw from Philadelphia, a short drive to New York and less than a day in Chicago. Hotels, nightclubs and entertainment piers from the famous promenade lined and has provided many opportunities for anyone with a little money and ambition to get into the world.


Nucky protected and the driver, Jimmy Darmody, a return to war to keep its status as Nucky right arm. But Jimmy can be impatient and ask for help from some trading partners Nucky more unpleasant. This Deadly Alliance to draw a federal officer, Nelson Van Alden, which aims to bring Nucky, and his teacher, Louis Commodore Kaestner, down, whatever the cost.

Summary: America in 1920. The Great War is over, Wall Street is about to boom and everything is for sale, even the World Series. It is a time of change when women are getting the vote, broadcast radio is introduced, and young people rule the world.

On the beach in southern New Jersey sits Atlantic City, a spectacular resort known as "The World's Playground," a place where rules don't apply. Massive hotels line its famous Boardwalk, along with nightclubs, amusement piers and entertainment to rival Broadway. For a few dollars, a working man can get away and live like a king -- legally or illegally.

The show is adapted from Nelson Johnson's book, Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City.
